A Festive Foul Deed Goodwill to all men – except one. The “Murder by Appointment” team will ensure that there is one less present needed under the tree and a passenger seeking a good defence lawyer as another new tale is unfolded. The train steams out of Bishops Lydeard at 12.45 and the dark afternoon and dark doings will be lightened by a meal of sausage and chips and a glass of wine served to you at your seat. FARES: £26.00 ADULTS (The Murder Mystery Events are not suitable for children).

The Traditional Santa Special Why not take a train ride this Christmas to meet Santa in his grotto? The trip consists of taking the train from Bishops Lydeard to Crowcombe Heathfield or from Minehead to Blue Anchor to meet Santa. Each child will receive a gift from Santa and Parents and Grandparents will be served with seasonal refreshments.

Throughout the week there will be a variety of activities to get people in a truly festive mood - from lantern parades, candle-light concerts and carol services - even the local cinema will be screening the Christmas classics such as Its A Wonderful Life. All your Christmas shopping is catered for - An all day farmers market selling local produce and goodies on Saturday 1st December. On Saturday 8th December you can shop til you drop, fuelled by mulled wine and mince pies at Lyntons Shopping Extravaganza. Shops will be open late and packed to the rafters with unique and fantastic gifts for the whole family. So after a relaxing break taking in some of the most stunning scenery in Britain, you can return home full of Christmas cheer, calm in the knowledge that all your shopping has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Dunster by Candlelight takes place every year on the first Friday and Saturday in December when this remarkably preserved medieval village turns its back on the present and lights its streets with candles. Because of the huge numbers of people who come to Candlelight there is NO PARKING in Dunster itself during the evenings. Park and Ride is cheap (free parking, £2.00 for each adult return – accompanied children under 14 travel free) and headache free. Park and Ride buses run continuously from 3pm each day and the last bus from Dunster is at 9.30
